Hydrotherapy is a special kind of physical therapy which is used in the treatment of a disordered or weak musculoskeletal system including muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones and joints to achieve mobilization or strengthening, also as postoperative treatment after surgery. The treatment in the water is efficient and gentle, because the buoyancy reduces the body weight to be carried, and at the same time the water pressure increases the training effect.

The therapeutic basins which are already available from competitors serve the same purpose. However, they require a lot of floor space and/or have a very complex mechanical design which leads to a variety of problems for the user in respect of handling, hygiene and maintenance
